10/13/2008 I'm thankful for lots of things! Here are most of the things I'm thankful for and why. I'm thankful for books, because I love reading. I'm also thankful for my TV. I like watching Zoey 101, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Zeke and Luther, Sonny with a Chance, and other shows on Family channel. That's why I'm thankful for my TV.

My computer is also something I'm thankful for because I like going on GirlsGoGames and YouTube. I'm thankful for food, because it tastes good and I need it to live. I'm also thankful for my jazz and tap class. I like dancing jazz and tap, so that's why.

My friends are also something I'm thankful for because if I didn't have friends I'd be so lonely, nobody would play 4 Square with me and what would I do when I'm done a book?

02/09/2009 Hi 0015, Thanks for your letter! It was fun to read it. To answer your questions: yes, I do have a best friend that speaks my language and some of the questions you asked I already wrote on my letter but I'll answer them anyway. I am 7 years old. I did a lot of stuff for Christmas. My birthday is on August 17th. And my favourite foods are candy! When you got my letter I didn't have a pet yet. First I got two baby turtles, girl and boy, but they died. So now I got two boy turtles because my uncle gave me two more turtles!

I was wondering if Belgium snows? How old are you? What did you do for Christmas? Do you like drawing? Does your class use the book Math Makes Sense? Who are your friends at school? Is your school a private or public school?

I like drawing but I like writing better. My class uses the book Math Makes Sense. Mostly all the girls in my class are my friends. My school is a private school. I loved writing this letter. Oh, and if you happen to do something special at school for Valentine's Day, please tell me.

​ 03/2009 This week I am going to the CIBC Children Centre. My mom works at CIBC, so she could just drop me off and then go to her workplace on the third floor. At the centre, there are four rooms that kids are at. Those four rooms are for different people. The first room is for infants, the second one for toddlers, third for preschoolers, and the fourth room for school-agers. I am a school-ager.

On the first day, I ate breakfast and went to CIBC on the subway with my mom. Anyway, at CIBC I met a girl named 0265. I also saw 0266 and her brother. Now I saw 0266 and her brother before. I think I saw them the last time I went to CIBC. The day passed by fast and in gym I hula hooped.

The next day, I made two melt beads. One was a monarch butterfly and the other was a black car. For the monarch butterfly I used brown instead of black. I coloured some colouring sheets and also hula hooped in the gym. I also read my book.

​ 03/14/2009 It's in the night, and I've just got back from my friend's mom's parent's house and we had sooooo much fun! In the beginning we played Rock Band and me and 0019 just watched. 0019 is one of my friends. 0020 was playing the drums. She's also one of my friends. 0021 was playing the guitar and she's also one of my friends too! After that, we ate dinner. In the middle of eating, 0020 said we should go to the park.

This was the first time 0019 ever went on the pole before. He was fine. Me and 0020 were down there to catch him if he fell and 0021 was behind him. But I already knew how to go on the pole so it was easy for me! 0020 pushed me and 0019 on the swings. When we got back to the apartment, we all played Uno Spin and I won five times! 0019 won seven times, 0020 won three, and 0021 won three times like 0020.

​ 03/15/2009 My mom told me we were going skating with 0020, 0021, and 0019 again. On the ice, I showed my Pokémon cards to 0019 and we talked about Pokémon. Then I played at his house. My mom and 0021 showed me a book. I loved it! It was called Miles to Go. It's about Hannah Montana's real life. After that I went downstairs to play MapleStory. I started to read a Junie B. Jones book they had at their house and I finished it. 0019 also showed me a few things on MapleStory and I went back home.

Everything's sooooo QUIET! When am I going to sleep? It's 9:50 already! Yesterday I went to sleep at 11:50 or 10:30. It's even confusing for me! What can I do? I'll just go watch TV. ​

03/17/2009 You probably don't know, but I went skiing today. Also yesterday. I LOVE going downhill! I only fell once because somebody snowboarding bumped into me! There's even this machine called The Magic Carpet so you can get to the top of the hill. ​

03/19/2009 I woke up, went to my mom's workplace and read, finished one book, and started another book called Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great. My mom made some hot chocolate for me, and I ate two candies from my mom's office.

Then my dad picked me up and we walked to Staples to get duotangs for class. I got two. One with a dolphin on it and one with a horse on it. There were lots of pens. I really liked some of the pens. But I only bought the duotangs. After, I drew for art class. It was today. I drew a lemon and a banana.

Finally, we headed to Centennial Park. This was my last day at skiing because I think they only offer four days. I also got my skiing report card. At skiing today, us kids and the teacher had a snowball fight. Anyways, on my report card, I got all checkmarks. ​

03/20/2009 I went to my friend 0017's house. We even wanted to have a sleepover! My mom would just say on the phone, "Sorry, she's at her friend's house sleepovering." Anyways, we played, like, every game on barbie.com on the computer! I even won 0017 a purple rock star guitar on the game Guitar Goddess! I played it before at my house, and I don't care if she's got that guitar because I have the same one.

​ 03/21/2009 Today I woke up at 10:39! I went downstairs and practiced for my Chinese test. I got a B-. Finally, when Chinese class was over, I watched Phineas and Ferb and Kim Possible. Then we had to go to church and I played with my Littlest Pet Shop Jay. At church, the adults played ping-pong and I took pictures with my mom's cell phone. When we were going home, me and my mom kept thinking of "I thinks," for example, "I think you're 45 years old," because daddy was driving. ​

03/23/2009 Today I had school. I go to Peoples Christian Academy. It's a private school, and we have to wear uniforms. My friends' names are 0001, 0002, and 0011. ​

03/24/2009 Today I went to school, too. At recess me and my friends played Broken Telephone but this time 0026, 0027, and 0028 were playing. After school, me and 0002 went to Chess Club and then Homework Room. 0001 was there and 0011 always leaves early. We drew a picture that had different hats on it. We always draw pictures for our teacher, Miss 0016. When my mom picked me up, I went skating like I do every Tuesday. I'm in Level 4. ​

03/25/2009 Today at school me and my friends mostly just chased the Puppet Show Guy. His name's 0029. He also told me that I was getting smarter (because he was running away from us and I stayed next to the door he ran into.) We caught him a lot, but he kept getting away.

I think I might have a crush on any boy in my class, but I don't know which boy. Bizarre, huh? Today in class I also finished my Earth Hour poster. I think I deserve to have my poster up on the wall outside. I took second most time and I filled the whole page.

I got home from school early because my dad picked me up so I could watch TV. My mom wasn't at home, so she didn't know I watched TV. I'm planning to tell her soon. Anyways, I watched Phineas and Ferb and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Then my dad told me I had to do some Chinese. When my mom came home, she made dinner and we all ate it. I did more Chinese after that. ​

03/26/2009 Today for recess we played Roots. You have to stand on the tree roots and if you fall on the mud, a person who's playing has to touch you and then you can get back on the tree roots. But if someone doesn't touch you, then you have to wait until someone touches you, quit, or get up because the game is over. We also played jump rope. A lot of people know how to jump rope. ​

03/28/2009 Today I didn't have school. It was Saturday, I mean. Now last week I didn't go to dance class because of March Break. Today I did. I love tap class. Ballet class hurts, and I'm so bad at doing the splits! I have to do the splits against the wall! Also, went to Chinese class, got a big test, came home, and watched The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, The Suite Life on Deck, Totally Spies, and Johnny Test!

PS: Today was also Earth Hour. ​

03/31/2009 Me, 0002, 0001, and 0011 almost broke up today because 0031 in Gr. 3, she told 0001 and 0011 that we were gossiping about them, but we sooo weren't! We just said they were spying on us. Which I know they were. When we were talking they were always looking at us. I might be wrong, though.

But 0011 started talking to me and so I started to talk to her. I said, "Where do you put this?" And she said, "In the finished basket, and why are you talking to me?" So I'm like, "Because you started talking to me first before we had this conversation." We became friends again. All in the same day! Imagine that! Except I don't even need to imagine that because it happened to me! ​

04/03/2009 Today was a great day. At recess we all stayed inside 'cause it was raining a lot, but I like indoor recess. We read, 0026 drew a picture of us, and watched movies. After school in snack shop, which is in childcare, I bought one candy bracelet with one dollar. The biggest bead on my bracelet was a heart that said I LOVE U on it. 0001 got a watch and her biggest bead was a rectangle with 12:28 on it. At Homework Room, me and 0001 drew a picture of a sun setting and a lake. It was really pretty. We gave it to Miss 0016 and then I went home. ​

04/07/2009 For recess, we ran around, talked, caught the Puppet Show Guy, and this time he actually showed us this martial arts trick. Then he tap danced, and his moves were bad, so I asked him, "Can you do this?" and I did shuffle hop step. He said no and also I asked him that 'cause I take tap classes and then he went, "Sorry, but I have to do other things now." ​

04/08/2009 Today I got cotton candy, I finished a book today called Gift Horse, and me and my friends made a new friend, 0034. ​

04/11/2009 I just came back from my friend 0035's house. She's way older than me. Well, maybe not that much. She's probably, like, 10 or 11. It was GREAT! Most of the time we played foosball, drew pictures, and sang. We also had dinner there. BEST TIME! ​

04/12/2009 Today was Easter! At church, there was an EXTRA SERMON. It was because, well, I think, because today was Easter. It was sort of boring. Oh, and for crafts at church I made this glittery pink heart box. It was really COOL!

After lunch, I went to 0020, 0021, and 0019's house for Easter egg hunting. I go there every Easter to do it. Other people come, too. If you find any pens or pencils, you go to 0021 at the end and she'll give you some marshmallows. I found two pens, two pencils, and a lot of eggs, too. We also played other games – Over and Under, Limbo, Hot Potato, and Tug of War. ​

04/13/2009 Today I can only write about what I just watched. It was AWESOME! I watched Camp Rock. Around the World, to be exact. I like Mitchie, but I also like that girl with the curly, brown hair. ​

04/16/2009 Today I got one rainbow belt. And I wrote a lot and I love writing. Me and my friends caught the Puppet Show Guy and we played Truth or Dare, and he admitted he liked a girl in his class. ​

04/25/2009 Now I have a great idea! I can write whenever I've had an awesome day – or at one part sounds good. So let me tell you about the good, great, nice, AWESOME part of my day. You would never guess! But actually, maybe you could. There are actually two things but I'm going to write about the most exciting now. Now I know, or at least think that whoever is reading this should not be reading this, but that's not the point. The point is, I think you are all thinking, "Why can't she just write it down now?" So I will. I got – pause – Miles to Go! The book! By Miley Cyrus! Gasp! I'm on page 240 something. It's a really good book.

Since a lot of people have been asking, (well, maybe not a lot of people), what I like about the book, I'm gonna write that down, too. I like, or love everything about it! ​

04/30/2009 My parents won't let me write that much today! Sorry! (It's getting late, anyways.) So today for our field trip we went to the Toronto Zoo. It was fine, but all our other trips were better!

05/08/2009 My mom In my mom's childhood, she worked with a cow that was in a nice field. Sometimes the cow would eat the rice crops when my mom wasn't looking. But really, the cow was supposed to eat in the pasture. Another thing my mom had to do was wash clothes. Those days they were very poor. That's why there was no laundry machine or running water. So my mom washed the clothes in the pond. The pond had clean water.

When my mom first started school she was 8. School started at 7:00. So she had to wake up at 6:00 without breakfast. It was a half hour walk to get to school. They didn't have cars or bicycles and only a few roads. And they have wooden flip-flops! Once you get used to them they feel comfortable. Once or twice my mom fainted when she was walking back from school because of starvation. ​

05/10/2009 Yesterday me and daddy skipped dance class (well, my dad doesn't dance there, but he drives me). We skipped dance just to go to our new school! It was a miracle that they could find one! Anyways, we sang there at 11:30 am.

Today was Mother's Day. I wasn't so happy that my mom was still in China. But now me and daddy are phoning her! ​

05/12/2009 Today was the SPRING CONCERT! I'm so sure we all sang so well. It was sooo good I don't have any other words to put it in. There was drama too! I just loved it. I was singing in all of the songs. But most people were. I gotta go now!

PS: Tomorrow is non-uniform day. ​

05/18/2009 On Sunday after church, I went home, did some homework, and went to 0020, 0019, and 0021's house! I was sleepovering. When I got there, these two other guys there playing Monopoly with 0019 and laughing a lot. So I read Lucy Out of Bounds up to 86 pages.

0020 sat on the couch and played a few dance films on her shiny pink camera. After that, 0020 picked a song called "Let's Get Crazy" on an iPod, by Miley Cyrus and we danced to it. Then we had to go to a person's house for dinner. First we went to this shop, and got a lot of gum for FREE! We weren't stealing, though. Then we went to the supermarket, and I realized I had forgotten my book! Oh NO! But 0019's dad got it back from their house.

Since it was 0021's birthday, we ate fruit cake and looked at presents 0021 got. She got 101 dollars and five cents. She also got a paper fish, shoes, a few cards, and more stuff. But I can't write that much now. ​

05/22/2009 On Monday, I woke up from the sleepover and went to the Blue Jays baseball game. It was pretty boring, but the Grade 6s were singing "The Star Spangled Banner" and "O Canada." And they're the Grade 6s from our school!

Today, there was a pancake breakfast. But only the people from our school can buy them. I got two pancakes. One pancake is for $2, two pancakes are for $3, and five pancakes for $5. It was also non-uniform day and Quiet Day, not just Pancake Day. You're supposed to wear your house colour. It's a school thing, though. So you'd probably think I was supposed to be wearing brown or something. But, no. I have to wear yellow. And, for Quiet Day, you have to be quiet. The person who wins gets extra school carnival tickets and 25 points for their house team. There was sort of a tie. Me, 0011, 0001, 0038, and 0026 won. ​

05/2009

Once upon a time there was a purple crane. He was very boastful. "I'm the best of all the jungle," he declared. One day he boasted so loud that some people from the Toronto Zoo went to investigate, because they had heard the boasting. They quickly found the crane and captured him.

The people from the zoo took him to the place where the elephants lived. All the animals at the jungle were happy the crane left. They were annoyed and tired of his boasting. Anyway, at the elephant land, the crane tried to escape, but some highly trained elephants stopped him, and said, "Purple cranes don't escape here."

That made a wonderful sight for the visitors. They all agreed that the new crane was splendid. Plus the crane was unhappy for the rest of his life. ​

06/08/2009 I'm sooooooo sorry that I haven't had time to write. Just, well, I go to sleep really late now, my parents want me to go to sleep early, so I don't get sick, and I don't want to upset my parents by asking them, "Can I please write in my diary?" But on with the story.

So I went to Centre Island with my class. I was in 0042's mom's group. She was really nice. 0042, 0027, and 0001 were also in my group. First we went on a bus ride to the ferry. Me, 0027, and 0001 went on the carousel and the log rides, and me and 0027 went on the tea cups. We all went on the bee rides and the swan rides. Me, 0001 and 0027 were on one swan, and 0042 and his mom were on the other swan. Oh yeah, and we also went on boat rides, car rides, and we played in the arcade. ​

​ 06/26/2009 I have so much to tell you. First of all, the carnival at my school, which we have every year on the last day of school, was inside the two gyms because it was raining outside. It wasn't as fun as last year's carnival. My dad bought some pizza, a hot dog, and some Nestea. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I had a fine time.

Second of all, I'm getting glasses! Me, my dad, and mom are going to the optometrist tomorrow to get the glasses. My dad already paid the money the last time I went there, so we don't have to pay. The glasses cost 300 dollars!

So, third of all, I borrowed ten books from the library yesterday, but I'm still reading my first book. It's 360 pages. If I read it all, that book will be the longest book I've ever read!

Fourth of all, I went my cousin 0043's graduation yesterday night. She looked pretty. She curled her hair, too. After the graduation, all the audience could greet the graduaters and give them flowers. There were also some refreshments, which are stuff you can eat. They tasted really good. By the way, just to tell you, 0043 was going to university.
