​ 11/2013 Whenever we get Scholastic magazines, I circle my favourites, beg my parents, and sometimes purchase the good deals. We wait for the box to come, our teacher distributes them, and we revel in clean new books.

​ 11/22/2013 Today was one of the best days I've had in a long time. After countless late nights of dreary work and projects, it was great to relax and take a break. I saw Catching Fire with a bunch of people. My favourite song on the soundtrack has got to be "Silhouettes" by Of Monsters and Men. ​

12/22/2013 It was really icy and cold where I live today. My backyard tree actually fell down because the icicles were too heavy. It almost hit our house. Thank God it didn't. We couldn't drive one of our cars. It was encased in ice. There is ice everywhere.

​ 01/03/2014 Most people look forward to Friday, the last day of the week. The day that leads to the weekend. I dread Friday. The weekdays have ended, I'm left with my head in my hands, unfinished work, and a feeling of helplessness to everything I have to do, to make up for wasted time. ​

01/07/2014 Exams coming up. Lately I've been going to sleep late, poring over books and stacks of paper and text that blurs in my head. Sometimes I just want to go to bed without the dreaded feeling that I have to drag myself out of bed the next morning. ​

01/21/2014 Today I had an exam and I was literally the last person to find a seat. It was super awkward, walking around like Aaah, I don't have a place to sit for my exam... Y'know, maybe I can just skip it. I then proceeded to sit at the wrong desk. ​

01/23/2014 I fear failure. This prevents me from starting new projects. I guess my fear comes mostly from having to be the best at everything. Peer pressure. Not being good enough. If I could throw all those feelings away, I could be free. ​

​ 03/08/2014 On the airplane, Saturday. Do people say "in the airplane" or "on the airplane"? I feel weird saying "in," but surely we can't be on the wing of the plane! I sat next to an old couple who teach kids with autism. They said they've been to Cuba seven times. Being beside the clouds feels like being on top of the world, even if your brain tells you that there is much more that you'll never see.

The air is warm and humid as we step out. Men are selling soda cans soaked in ice water. We wait for our parents to finish exchanging currency. Palm trees are in the distance, and I think I even see a camel. The sun shines in my eyes as I awkwardly attempt to make small talk. We get into the bus, two to a seat because there's no space. Spanish music plays while we spot pastel coloured houses, old Ferris wheels, and shrubs. ​

03/09/2014 Today I drank out of a pineapple, played cards, and laughed so hard I peed my pants. ​

​ 05/29/2014 A few weeks ago I went to the plant store. We got some jade plants, cacti, and succulents. My mom really likes aloe vera plants.

​ 06/13/2014 So many weird things happened this week. On Wednesday, I walked into the washroom and there was this girl changing. It really freaked me out, so I stayed inside the stall until she left, which was actually a super long time. Around 20 minutes. After she left, I ran out the door like a madman, but the thing is, she came back. So as I opened the door, I bumped into her. Oh, and this was during class, so when I came back, everyone was like "Where have you been?"

Also, I have these special contact lenses that you wear at night. I distinctly remember putting both of them into my eyes, but when I woke up, only one lens was in my eye. It either fell out during my sleep, or I ate it... Anyways, I guess that wasn't very many weird things, only two. ​

06/15/2014 Exams are coming up and I'm literally the worst at studying. Yesterday I wasted a lot of time with my cacti and my laptop. I really want cotton candy. I wonder if my mom will let me buy a cotton candy machine off eBay. ​

06/20/2014 Yesterday some friends came over. We made cookies, watched Rush Hour, then walked to my school's year-end carnival. I won some toy horses and other miscellaneous animals that I'm going to paint nice pastel colours on today.
